In the Fancy New Carck

Lon merges the words car and truck. It sounds like carck. He started calling the rental car our fancy new carck. Mark got upgraded, which turned out to be a wonderful thing for our drive up to Connecticut!

Lon is ready! He has Eddie Bear!

Lindsay is not so much ready. She wanted to go to Boston, and we were going up in that direction. We had the room! Uncle Jeffy, Lindsay, Mark, our beloved benevolent dictator driver, and Lon and I all took of Monday morning about 9 for the wonderful drive. The company made it go by really fast.

Uncle Jeffy has time for coffee and conversation on the screen porch.

Miss Lindsay gets some last minute advice from Christa!

Lon likes the cavernous trunk. Even with all the luggage and the stroller, he still fits! Note the brown dinosaur, Tritop. Mommy forgot him in Seattle, and when Daddy brought him all Lon could say was Daddy brought Tritop, Daddy brought Tritop and he hugged that dinosaur tight!

Please Daddy, there is room in here, can I ride here?

We talked Lon into the car seat. A much better traveling option.

Last minute advice on how to use Ms. Garmin.

Let's get this traveling circus on the road! I have my water, my tritop I am READY!! Enough of these long goodbyes, we will be back in 5 days!!

We are off in the fancy new carck. It is a really nice car.

Going into the tunnel in Baltimore.

Coming up to the Tappan Zee bridge. Mark did not want to take the GW again, since he thinks we got super super lucky the last time. It was fine with us!

Lon really enjoyed having me and Miss Lindsay sit in the back with him. That was the very best it could have been! We arrived in Old Saybrook just about the time the train schedule said a train was leaving for Boston. We said good bye to Miss Lindsay rather quickly! She did make the train! That was great. No waiting around for a couple hours for the next one. We took Uncle Jeffy to his house, then we found our hotel.

Our first call was to GrammaLyn! She brought up Iliano's pizza and Uncle Jeffy brought Lon a happy meal, he talked about wanting a happy meal all the way through Connecticut! The rest areas all have McDonalds at them. He sees those and thinks about happy meals. What a great guy that Uncle Jeffy is!

Lon had a good time on the ride up and he got to spend more time with Miss Lindsay and Uncle Jeffy too! He was very happy to see GrammaLyn and Uncle Eric.
