The weather has been iffy, but getting better. I was worried it was going to be rotten for the Egg hunt. As usual, I should not have worried, the weather was glorious. It got to 72 (f) (22(c))! Not one raindrop all day.
The Easter Bunny arrived about 1am last night. He was good to Lon this year. 3 Lego mini figs, a small lego boat and some bath fizzes along with the candy.
Hanging up Lon's Easter photos I noticed he has worn the same Easter outfit for three years. Time to get him a new one for next year. Lon has grown taller, but not wider.
Lon still likes to have all the Easter Bunnies on the back of the couch. I just wish we could see more of my bunny quilt. It was fun to make and the bunnies are very fuzzy.
Lon slept in till a little after 8, much to the delight of his mother! Right off he found the basket just for him. Daddy tried to tell him that maybe the basket was for someone else. Lon smiled at Daddy and said, well, ya see Dad this basket has MY name on it. ( The Easter Bunny got him a personalized basket his very first Easter)
Seeing everything in his basket. It was all his and he did not have to share if he did not want to. There were no duplicates in his mini fig packs. This made for a wonderful morning!
All the kids lined up, waiting for the signal to go egg hunting!
The big boys had to wait a few more seconds, while the little kids got a head start.
Then they had to make it past the stair guard! He was pretty easy to maneuver past!
Reyansh still was not sure about this whole egg hunting thing, but the big kids were looking for eggs, so he would too! He liked to put them in his basket and then dump them out and watch them fall. He is so adorable!
The most wonderful place to hide two soccer eggs!
The kids hunting. Brian, Drew and Kayla
The kids are having a great time
Looking for more. There has to be some around here somewhere! Makunda is watching from his porch. We invited him over. Once we said we have ham, he was at the front door!
Everyone is trying to find those last eggs!
While everyone was out hunting eggs, I was putting the finishing touches on the Feast! Mark wanted to try mashed cauliflower instead of potatoes. I like cauliflower to start with, so I enjoyed it. It does not mash like potatoes, so you have to use the immersion blender. I am going to list what we had so we can remember for later. We had, Ham, asparagus, haroset, carrots and ranch, chocolate dipped strawberries, mashed cauliflower, crackers and boursin, pashka and kulich, ambrosia, white rolls, Italian Easter egg bread, deviled eggs and chocolate Easter egg (made by my much missed Mother) I think I got everything! We used Grandmother Presken's 1921 Noritake china. It is such a sweet spring pattern. Not one piece got broken. It is good to use it instead of having it just sit in a box, being good, but lonely, china.
Enjoying the feast! So glad everyone came. Kalpona and Makunda even joined us this year. That was great!
Drew and Rob enjoying the sunshine
Auntie Bubble comes through again! With bubbles for Reyansh. I found some bubbles in carrot shaped containers. The kids all had fun with them, but no one more than Reyansh!
Sometimes it is better just not to know
It seemed to be a trend that was catching on
Remains of the feast. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
Lon's first Nerf gun. He told Uncle Rahul that he really really really wanted a Nerf gun more than anything in the whole world. Uncle Rahul brought him one for Easter. We told him that he could not open it till after everyone left. I am not so sure that the cars were out of the driveway before Lon pulled out the box and started opening it up. Daddy made him change before he could play. Fastest change of clothes EVER. And yes, he has to wear eye protection with this one, cause you'll shoot your eye out kid!
Lon played with the Nerf till he could no longer see where the pellets were going. Then he called it a night, he had a piece of peanut butter toast and milk for dinner and went to bed! He put in a long day today. It was a good Easter.
We hope everyone had a great Easter too!
