Repitle Zoo

We have been back and forth to Leavenworth alot this summer. Every time we pass a place called the Reptile Zoo. On the way back from Plain, Lon said he wanted to see the reptiles.  Monday, we could not go after school, but today, we could go! So we did.
It is just past Monroe. On Highway 2.
The first thing I noticed was that it was very warm inside, and there was not a pleasant smell. The place was humid and stinky!  Lon really wanted to see it, so we stayed. It was 11 dollars for us to see all the reptiles.
Alligator! I was not sure if it was alive or not, until it moved it's head! scary!
ONE big snake! Lon was not so sure about that snake.
the Black Mamba was trying it's best to find an escape route. I was very glad to see it was a heavy mesh on top!
The turtle wanted to get out too! Mr. Turtle wanted to see if Lon had any food.
Iguana! He bounced his head up and down at us. I have no idea what that means.
Bye Bye Turtles! It was fun visiting you!
Our next stop was a fruit stand we keep passing. It is in Sultan. Stockings market and Mott's fruit. Family owned and run. Nice.
Lon looking over the corn. You can not peel it back to check it. You have to buy it on faith. Which we did. 4 ears. Lon wanted to weigh it. It weighed 2 1/2 pounds.
Lon carried our basket, corn, a small basket of blackberries, a wee pumpkin and two Sultan sweet onions.  They also had honey and jams. Those we did not need this time.
This field is right beside the stand. They grow their some of the produce they sell right there. How cool is that?
It was a wonderful day for adventure!
