OREGON!

I love going to Oregon.  After Lon's party was over, and the house is back to normal, we left the clean house and went to Lincoln city! We left really early, on the road by 5:30am. We stopped at Grandma's Country Kitchen for a good breakfast and to give everyone a chance to wake up. Then...
We stopped in at Grandpa Bills!
A deer parade out the front window. I love Oregon!
Lon played with Gabrielle. She is a sweet little girl.
A nice photograph.  It was pretty amazing to catch them being still for that long.  Lon shared his Leapster 2 with her earlier in the morning and she was immersed in the coloring feature. But once she say Lon outside playing it took her about two minutes to decide to be out there too. She had to think about it. That leapster was pretty wonderful.
As we were leaving to continue down the coast, we said bye to Uncle Adam.  It was really good to see him.
Bye to Grandpa Bill!
We were going to stop at the Creamery in Tillamook, but it was SO  crowded that we just kept going.  We stopped at a place in Tillamook. It was not very good, it was fast though. Lon got a pancake, and enjoyed that. I should have gotten that too!
We got to Lincoln City and walked on the beach. Agates and Moonstones were found, along with some really nice pieces of sea glass. We went back to the room and Lon had a warm up in the big Jacuzzi tub, then we went to dinner at the hotel restaurant, Mist. Mist was very good! Lon enjoyed his chicken fingers.
What he enjoyed more was the fudgey cake!  I enjoyed it too!
We saved some of the fries. Because it was raining (of course) we fed the seagulls from the porch. They are getting ready to toss the food to the waiting birds.
Lon was having so much fun feeding the gulls. They were much better behaved feeding them from the deck.  When we fed them on the beach last time they did not have such nice manners. Lon was cold again, so we all got on our swim suits and spent some time in the Jacuzzi tub. With the jets on.  Lon wanted to roast marshmallows, but it was too rainy for them to turn on the fire pits. He was NOT happy about it. Especially since we got the giant marshmallows before we left. I am hopeful it will not rain the entire time we are here. Mark did say that if the weather was like this the first two times we came down here we probably would have never come back. I am so glad we have.

Ohh, intriguing! We usually go to Orcas Island for beachy weekends, but Dennis has said that he'd like to try somewhere else. It looks like your hotel is right next to the beach? And you have access to a fire pit? Because those are my two favorite features of the cabin we go to at Orcas...this might be a good alternative for us :)

The hotel is on the beach. The view of Lon feeding the gulls is from our balcony. All rooms have them. The room we get has the jetted tub, a regular tub in the bathroom too. The hotel here has gas fire pits that they turn on every night weather permitting. It is so much nicer with the little ones, when they are done, we just leave the pit area. Nothing to put out, no coals to worry about, no having to mess with starting a real fire. Love that with the smalls. And the Oregon beaches are all access for everyone. With some great rocks to find and they salt the beaches in Lincoln city with glass floats, glass animals, and other glass things to find. Not that I have found any yet, but I have hope! We love it down here. Takes a little time, about 6 hours to get down here, but stopping for ice cream helps.
