Heros of the Air

Today at Boeing Field they had the Heroes of the Air Helicopter Show. Okay, how could I miss that? We loaded up and off we went! At first we walked around and looked at all the machines. They had a Homeland Security Black helicopter, one King County Sheriff, one from the Marine Corp, TWO Coast Guard Helicopters and One from Air Station Widbey. Once we got Lon inside the Coast Guard Helicopters, he just did NOT want to get out!

We spotted this plane. They were giving rides, from Old Thyme Air. I had to take this photo. If you look closely it is Ellis Airlines, from Ketchikan Alaska. HAHAHAHAHAA

We started out in the Coast Guard Helicopter.

Are ya'll ready back there? I am about to start this bad boy up!

This is SO cool!!!

Inspecting the equipment.

Now we are trying out the Navy Helicopter!

Checking out the jump seat.

I love this shot.

Inside the Homeland Security Helicopter. He met a new friend who would fly with him.

They tried flying the Airlift Northwest Helicopter. I pray that this is the ONLY time Lon is ever in the Airlift Northwest Helicopter.

Mom! Dad! THIS IS SO COOL!!!

It took a while but we got Lon back in the stroller. We were going to get some lunch, but the line was VERY long. Rats. We did find a smashed penny machine! WHOOHOOO.

We did go to lunch at Las Margaritas. Lon remembered the salsa as being really yummy. This time it was very heavy on the garlic and onion and was NOT what he wanted at all!

He got over the nasty salsa and played with the tortilla container.

What a nice day we all had!

HOw fun - I have the same shot of Matthew "flying" Marine One -- it is so cute. Dad would be so proud. Except the boys would have already acutally flown a helicopter by now.
