The Moss Covered Rock

Tonight was the all first grade play.  It was adorable.  I was fortunate enough to be able to volunteer and make trees and vines. I helped painting the masks for the kids. I got to watch the dress rehearsal. It was beyond cute.  The play is about a spider who finds a magic moss covered rock that makes the animals go to sleep if they say a certain phrase.  The spider uses this to steal the other animals food.  The giraffes find out what she did to the lions, the elephants and the rhinos, and play a trick on her to get the animals back their food.

Dress rehearsal!  There were no other costumes, just the masks.
Lon and Ocean  did try not to talk to each other. It is really really hard for them!

The whole cast, all 60 of them!

Time for the play!
Lights! A real audience!  Time to shine!
Lon, being a Rhino, got to tango with mangos!
They showed off their super cool moves
A classmate's little sister very much liked taking photos. She would run back and show me what pictures she took.

And it is all done!

The final pictures of the play

At the end of the play, all the kids got to pull down the vines and trees. It was SO much fun!  We then put all the paper into the recycle bin. One of the fathers had to get into the big bin and stomp it down.
Lon had a great time, so did we!
