Lon got a new Lego to take down there to build. He had some birthday money that he wanted to spend! He was very happy to get the Wampa Cave of the Ice Planet Hoth. A Star Wars Lego!
Tiki Tim now hides among the blueberries. Not sure if the fruit will survive the replant, but if it does, YUM!
Saturday morning we started out with some garage sales, it is fun. Mark has a good eye. He got a box of rocks and I got two pans. I know, I really need new bakeware! A snowflake pan and a 12x24 inch baking pan. BIG cake! Lon got a new game and a book on airplanes. Something like a Janes, but much simpler. I have been looking for something like that for him!
The afternoon was a wonderful party for Mr. Mendenhall, just back from Afghanistan. He will be going back in a few weeks, but it is good to see him. He is looking good. Lon was busy talking to him about Legos.
The lady of the house did not have Legos for Lon to play with, her grown up boys took those with them! She did have some toys to play with. Lon was making very elaborate guns.
When we got back to the house, Lon started building his biggest Lego yet. We saved it for last. He has built all the other Legos he got for his birthday. The Portal to Atlantis had over 1000 pieces. He wanted to see how far he could get on it, by bedtime he only had up to bag three done. There were 9 bags! The biggest Lego he had done up to this point had 3. He was taking his time, doing it right.
Sunday morning, it was all done! He was very proud of himself. Daddy helped just a bit, he did not do the building, he just helped push some pieces into place that were tough for Lon.
We invited Uncle Rahul, Auntie Prachi and Reyansh over to visit. They just got back from Yellowstone. In my perpetual cleaning of the garage, I came across a badminton set. Mark went to set it up and it was missing a few key pieces, so he went and bought a new one! Oh my.
I used a new recipe for pizza dough, and it was very good, except for the fact I slightly over cooked it. Next time about 7 minutes less and it would have been perfect. Sadly, after dinner Reyanch was tired and needed his own bed. They did not stay for the ice cream. I will bring some to Prachi tomorrow. From some of the strawberries we picked I made ice cream base last night to let it get nice and cold.
Lon was waiting not so patiently for the ice cream to get finished churning. I love my Krups ice cream maker. The ice cream turned out well! Another fun week of summer is about to start!
