It was a very good watermelon. We saved some of the seeds and I will plant it earlier in the summer next year and we will see if we can grow this volunteer on purpose!

Watermelon!
Earlier this summer, I noticed a vine growing beside the house. I wondered what it was, it had some little yellow flowers. I looked it up and it was a watermelon! I remembered one day we fed Lon and his friends some watermelon and they were outside. One of the seeds took root!
Even though it was late in the season, a melon developed!
We guessed at what the best time to pick it was and picked it!
It was a very good watermelon. We saved some of the seeds and I will plant it earlier in the summer next year and we will see if we can grow this volunteer on purpose!
