Magic Kingdom

I had thought that since we had a late night at Disney Springs Lon would sleep in a little. It was not to be.  He was up at 7:30! Ready to get this show on the road! The park did not open till 9.  I had to slow him down. I moved at a snail's pace to get dressed and he kept walking out the door up and down the hallway.  At 845 I was ready and we got the bus to the Magic Kingdom. While we did not make it rope drop we were in the park by 9:15.
Lon looked at the Disney app. Splash Mountain only had a 5 minute wait.  Let's get going. I was all set to walk across the park. No, mom, that would take too long. Let's hop the train and get off in Adventure Land and we are right there!

Smart boy.

We rode the train back after getting soaked on Splash Mountain.  He wanted to get his Sorcerer cards.  Which we did.

This tree is amazingly tall.

and beautiful

A quick Dance Party parade!

Lon got to meet Stitch.  and it was so fun.  This is our Christmas card photo. One of the things I wanted to accomplish at the Magic Kingdom taken care of!

More of the Dance Party Parade. I think it went by three times on Friday

Main Street!  SO Happy to be here!!
Lon and I were getting hungry. Lon could not find something he wanted, so we walked back to Tony's.  We got right in!

Lon had a pizza and I had shrimp scampi. No desserts since we were going to be walking around getting yummies along the way

We loved the window displays on main street.

Still loving the LEGO castle.

The Jungle Cruise turned into the Jingle Cruise. All decked out for Christmas.

There were Christmas touches all over the ride.

more of the Jingle Cruise
Last one, I promise

Aladdin's magic carpet ride. Lon was doing crazy up and down moves. He was having a great time!

He liked to have the carpet up as high as it would go

Pirates! We love this ride

Ice cream break!

If there is not a show in front of the castle you can still walk through.   YAY!

I love that Lon takes his time and looks at what he thinks is good.   We do not rush around trying ot get everything in. We have a list of the most important things to do and we try to get to those

Duck Butt

BIG bunny

Dinner reservations at the Crystal Palace.

Winnie the Pooh and friends were there !

I looked all ove the park for a winnie the pooh book for a friend to get it signed and they have very few books of any kind.  We were sad about this.

EYEORE!

We love him!

Giving Piglet's ear a scratch.

Tigger walked right by,  missing Lon. He was not happy about that. SO since we had already been there 90 minutes, I went and talked to the handler and asked her when he was coming back. I was polite, I was nice.   She just shook her head and said probably not.  okay.  so we paid our bill. Our waitress Karen was great!  So nice

The staff was making a fuss over Lon and his great shirt and was saying how great it was. Then they asked him if everything was good, well Lon said all but Tigger, so the manager went and talked to the handler about when would Tigger be by, well she got really upset about this. Looked at him and said WE have to TALK. and turned on her heel and went to the back.  I just looked at the manager and told him we would go look for Tigger in the Hundred Acre Wood Spot. I have no idea what we did to her, but she was not happy with us.  Even with that, we had a great time at dinner. The food was wonderfu at the buffett.    We were about to start the Very Merry Christmas Party and it was going to be a great time!

Disney Springs

After Animal Kingdom, it was only 7:30. We thought that checking out Disney Springs would be fun. The last bus left there at 2am, lots of time to check it out!
It was so pretty!

We had our picture taken in front of the big tree and I will try to add that soon

Our first stop was the LEGO store!
Lon's new favorite is the Orange Bird

Soliders on stilts were walking around

We ducked out of the LEGO store to watch the new drone show. It was very cool.   Very impressive, they had different colored lights on the drones and theywould trun them on and off to make different patterns in the sky. The drones were silent too.

Back to the LEGO store! These Toy Story figures were made entirely of LEGOS.  Lots of kids had their photos taken with them.

The Castle. I know Lon would love to have it, and I would love to give it to him, but at the moment, it is a dream.

More LEGOS!

Giant LEGO sculptures were all around the LEGO store!

Even in the water there were LEGOS

This one was amazingly big

This is the largest Disney Store in the Universe. Or at least that is what they told us. Stitch will spit water at you!

We walked over to the Trail of Trees

It was very fun! All blue lights and trees inspired by Disney movies

this one is Lilo and Stitch

They made it snow!

A couple more trees

This was a fun photo spot.

We wanted to get a hot cocoa, or something fun, but everything was so crowded, we could not get into any place.

While we enjoyed the drone show, the LEGO store and the Trail of Trees, we decided that Disney Springs is probably not for us.  Too crowded without any of the fun of the parks for us.   We can say we tried it and had some fun, but we would rather do other things!

Animal Kingdom

The picture is a little fuzzy but we were leaving the driveway!  We were going to Disney World, on December 1.

Almost 7 hours later  we arrived!  We are really really here!

Out hotel was Pop Century!  I had not heard the best things about it, but we were going to give it a try.
This is Lady and she is HUGE. Staring down at us.  Lady was closest to our hotel building.  We could see  Lady's head from the third floor.

Tramp was on teh other side. He was equally as big.

We got all checked in to the hotel, with a great cast member named Barb. She was so nice to us!

Then we were off to the Animal Kingdom! Lon was so excited!

There are so many pretty spots

On our way to the first ride Lon wanted to do. The Kali River Rapids.  I knew he wanted to go on this ride, I packed some quart zippy bags for my camera and phone. Worked out very well.

After the Kali River Rapids we were on our way to Everest!  Lon's most favorite roller coaster.

The monkeys were very fun to watch. Swinging from pole to pole.

There it is! Everest!

Waiting in line.

Sadly, it was not meant to be, we were just about at the cars, the excitement was building. Then the announcement. All guests please do not leave the cars, a cast member will come to assist you. Those of you waiting in line, please exit.
The ride was down.  No word on when it would be ready to ride again.  Some people were upset that their fast pass was now gone. That struck Lon as odd.

A Mickey sandwhich was helping with the dissapointment of not riding Everest!

Playing in the fountain

On to the Kilamanjaro Safari Ride. Looking at all the animals.

We did see the Lions, but they were sleeping and did not photograph well. I did manage to take lots of pictures of antelope butt

We were getting hungry, but we had about an hour till our dinner reservaion at Tusker House.  I asked the hostess if we could get in early and she said Yes! NICE

We saw Donald, and Daisy, Mickey and Goofy. Lon was having a blast.

They were not putting out the samosas. Those were so good, but they had an African chicken in tomatoes that was very good.   Lon had corn dogs and dessert.

This light show is projected right onto the Tree of Life in the center of the park. It was amazing to watch the tree transform into all these different images

A little further out, so you can see that it is the  tree

The big tree at the entrance all lit up! It was a little before 7pm

Fire works!

Back at the hotel.  Lon is perched inside the 1980 sign!

I like Pop Century! it is a fun place, the price is right and they have dedicated busses, from the hotel, to the parks, etc.  The room is on the smaller side, but it had two queen beds. It worked out great.

It was a lovely warm night.  Lon and I were both happy
