Folly Beach

Today we decided to see what Folly Beach was all about
Yes, it was very windy and rather chilly. Even though the temperature in said it was about 53, it felt much colder!
walking down to the beach!
The waves are smaller, but it reminded me of Oregon, well, at least the temperature!
Looking for shells
Running from the waves, trying not to get his shoes wet
Playing in the waves, but still trying not to get wet.
I did bring extra shoes, just in case
We got back in the car and drove down to the other end of Folly Beach. There was a park down there as well, but the parking was not as good, and we could not find a space.
On the way there we saw this totem, amongst the palmettos.
We walked around town, and saw this. It is an attorney's office.
Next to City Hall.
It was suggested we stop for pizza, but Lon said he was at the beach. We should have seafood. Excellent suggestion! We stopped at the Crab Shack. The kids menu did not feature fish. This was a dilemma for Lon!  We saw they had a Captain's Platter. It has fried fish, shrimp, clams, oysters and fries. This sounded like something we could split nicely. Lon would get the fish, Daddy got the oysters to go along with his Frogmore stew, and I got the rest. We all ate the fries! Lon and Daddy split a brownie sundae for dessert and I tried the key lime pie. The food was wonderful. We all enjoyed it.
We needed to have a walk after lunch or we would go into a food coma !  We went into one little shop, and petted the store cat. She was a very nice cat named Esmerelda.
Just above Lon's head is the street sign.  Nestled in the palms, it is Artic Street.
Running on the beach at Folly Pier. We first walked the length of the pier. We walked on the beach for a little bit and gathered some more shells.  Lon and I are going to try to make shell angels.  They require glitter.
Even though it was windy and chilly, there are still flowers blooming here!  we love that about here.
We stopped by a Harris Teeter grocery store to check it out on the way home. We are getting one closer to the house in the next couple weeks. We dropped off our little bit of groceries, and headed to Target to buy Lon some new play pants. These were a little too short to wear!  We did a little more shopping, world market and home depot, and then went home. It was a good day. We all had fun!
