Happy Seventh Birthday, Grace!

What a glorious day for a beach party! Grace turned 7, today!  She had a wonderful party at Omi's house on the lake. We could not think of a better place to be today!
The best part was being in the lake! The boys are out on a raft, tethered to the shore with that big orange rope.
And the big boy pushes the raft over!  Much to the delight of the smaller boys!
Getting back on the raft! It was not too deep where they were
Running back to the beach after getting the water squirter gun!
Grace and Lon and Ben, after Grace opened her gift from Lon, a shopping card and a doll dress made by mommy.

Then it was back in the water!
A momma duck and her brood heading out for the day. Later on in the afternoon we watched them swim back.
Daddy took Lon out in the kayak. Lon was thinking he was getting the idea well enough. He was liking this very much.
Then it was time for cake and ice cream. Grace's mom made these great looking ice cream creations! Omi made a crepe and nutella cake that was as wonderful as it sounds.
Blowing out the candles
After cake and ice cream, it was time to get back to the water. Lon told Daddy he could handle the kayak by himself. Daddy said okay, show me. Off they went. Lon was doing great. He could move himself around the water very well.
I see a kayak in our future!
The older kids started painting each other. They left handprints on their mom's back!
Mark, hero of the day!  The raft lost it's tether and two small ones were drifting out into the lake. Mark jumped in and went after the raft!  My hero was everyone's hero!  Hooray for Mark!
Hanging with the kids. Lon had a good dinner of hotdogs and watemelon.  yummy!
Lon showing off his art work. He made a fish and an ax.  Sadly, it was after 8pm and time to go home.
It was a great day, we had lots of fun, sunshine and happiness!
