Roses for Harishitha

Tomorrow is the American Reception for Uncle Vasu's lovey bride, Auntie Harishitha!

Lon and I made her an American style wedding cake. Lon was a big help. He really did a good job!

The top has the stylized hearts painted on in gold. I did the design, let it dry and the put the roses over it.

Auntie Harishitha loves roses, so I made LOTS of roses!

View from the top!

This is the little cake for them to keep, in the freezer, till their first anniversary!
Yes, all the roses are made from icing!

Since I Could Not Get It Together.....

Miss Sarah came over to baby sit so I could go work out at the gym. Well, first we got home late from swimming. Once I got back into the car, I forgot my sunglasses. Then I am halfway to the gym and realized my badge is still on my dresser. I turned around and went home. Miss Sarah had to be at work in an hour and half, that sunk the idea of going back to the gym. It worked out well for Lon since we all walked down to Goosepoop Park!

Lon liked the swings this time.

The climbing wall is not a challenge anymore.

Of course, there was lots of running!
Lon liked going to any park at anytime! We had to get home so Miss Sarah could make it to work on time, which she did. When we got home, Little Sarah was in her driveway (Congratulations to her on learning to walk!) She came over to play for a little while, Lon shared his toys very well. He was a good little gentleman. They played with chalk and bubbles in the driveway. What could be more fun?

Crossroads Water Park, part 2

Today, Tuesday, we met up with Gracie and family at Crossroads mall for lunch before heading off to the water park. The carousel was a huge draw for Lon, so after he ate an excellent lunch (an entire hot dog, half a slice of pizza, fries, drink and ice cream!) We went to the carousel. The women on the phone was on the bench on the phone the entire time we were on the carousel, giving us occasional dirty looks. I found it very amusing.

Lon loved riding the carousel and the only reason he agreed to go on to the water park, was Mommy was out of quarters to make it go. We rode 5 times!

The water park was super crowded!

The boat was still super fun, even if some of the bigger kids would stand over the water or put their foot on it so it would not spray. This was frustrating to Lon.

Moving on to the climbing wall and play equipment. That was fun!

Back to running around. He was harder to keep track of this time!

Back to the slide. He was all over the park. Mommy had a workout just keeping up with him!

Back to the water!

The Rotary Fountain.

Rock climbing. It was getting too warm, without enough water for us! We went home and filled up our pool!

A Haircut, then a Water Adventure

Today, Sunday, Mark wanted to get a haircut. We also wanted to check out the new Crossroads Water Park.

This is fun! The blue is all squishy and fun. There is water squirting randomly at various places through out the park. The boat was the most fun. Lon called it his pirate ship.

There are three orcas (killer whales) in the park. Each blows water out of it's blow hole. So cool.

The water is fun to watch.

Running. Always running.

A break from the water to play on the play ground equipment. Slides are good.

Yes, those are the pants from his birthday, with the pocket flaps removed. He has on his famous backyardigans shirt and speedo water shoes (the best!)

Climbing.

I like it here.

Climbing up the back on the largest orca

The ball will roll in the fountain with kids pushing it. It is the Rotary International fountain.

Lon gets his head wet in a water jet.

Lon on one of the little orcas, with a new friend in the background. They ran around like crazy. And got very very wet. So much fun!

One wet little guy in his pirate ship!

Getting even more wet, Mommy is so glad I brought clean dry clothes, a towel and a blanket!

A slide break

More climbing

One last trip to the boat.

We went home after the last roll of the ball. Lon and this little one got along well too. He is about a year younger than Lon. Lon had alot of fun at this park, I think it is going to be a wonderful place if the weather gets warmer.

Happy Fourth Of July!

We did not make it to the parade this morning. But we did walk down to the Rotary Picnic/Duck Race at Goosepoop park.

This year, Lon was old enough to play on the blow up equipment. The Church of the Nazarene brings down 4 giant blow up play units to the park every year for the kids. There was a bouncy house with a slide exit, a giant Pirate slide, an obstacle course with a little slide and the last one was a huge obstacle course with a giant slide. Lon had more fun running from one to the other. The hardest part, was waiting his turn in line. Lon did wait his turn, he was a very good boy!

Obstacle course!

He climbed up like a champ!

Miss Sarah helped Lon through the obstacle courses. She looked like she had fun too!

A little boost going up the BIG wall!

Down the slide. SO MUCH FUN!

Daddy, he is talking with one of the Church members about all the cool stuff they brought. They also brought water for everyone, free. Such nice people.

A video of Lon on the pirate slide. The first part is on it's side, but I corrected it!

The little obstacle course

With the slide at the end.
We took a break, got some lunch, hot dogs and shave ice! Lon did not eat the bread from his dog, so we fed it to the ducks. They deserved a treat today too!

We went to the play place and I helped Lon make a patriotic key chain for Daddy, he played a ducky game and won a prize! The last thing we did was watch the duck race. So far, they have not called to tell me I won any of the prizes. Rats!
