Tree Lighting

Today was the Summerville Tree Lighting in the square downtown. The PTA at Lon's school hosted a spaghetti dinner, then we all walked downtown singing Christmas Carols (well, more or less)! It was SO much better than trying to find parking!

The PTA also had hot chocolate and cookies for us when we reached downtown. Only 7 blocks from the school!
Yes, I did provide some of the cookies!

The town tree

We heard some Christmas songs from the Summerville High School Marching Band.  A prayer from one of the local clergy. I think it was the Methodist Minister, then the Mayor said a few words and lit up the tree!   VERY pretty

The jewelry store in town has a beautiful creche !

One more picture of the square before we walked back to the school and our car. It was a fun evening.
The temperatures were good, it was about 58 degrees.
