Lanterns

The New Year's Eve party was rained out, tonight was a nice night.  Nice enough to to light the lanterns!  Thank you so much Jennifer for doing this !

Ornament Harvest

Today was the day to take down the outside Christmas decorations

Helicopter Fun

One of Lon's Christmas presents was a remote control tiny flying helicopter.  It needs lots of charging for just a little flying.

It got up really high, and Lon could not figure out how to get it down or how to get it to go forward or backward, just up.
It is a good start, and he is working on figuring out more about it.

Making Mando on New Year's Day

Chong and Michelle have moved into their new house! We can now keep up the tradition of making Mando on New Year's Day!

Early Fireworks

The Yis came down around 9 and we thought it would be a great time to light off the fireworks we had. We did not have too much.  4 showering things, 2 big bang things, 2 super shot things,2 tanks, and  Roman candles and sparklers. There was a light rain, so perfect for fireworks.

December Folly

Today we had nothing planned.  Grammalyn was back in Connecticut and Grandma was not due until tomorrow.  We could clean house, we could just hang out. But we decided to go to Folly Beach since it was going to be 80 degrees!  Yes, today December 29!

We did not notice at first but someone was having a photo shoot under the pier, so we did not go that way.  We called Lon back as soon as we saw what was happening.

We heard you could find shark teeth on the beach. We started looking. Lon actually found a tiny shark tooth. Mommy said I will keep it in my pocket to keep it safe.
Mommy has lost the tiny tooth.  I am not happy about that.

Post Christmas Lego Extravaganza!

Lon got a LOT of Legos for Christmas.  Not one of them was a duplicate.  He started the great after Christmas Lego build!

Hiding Scout

My Grandfather made a latch hook tree skirt, and I still have it. This year I put it out. Before I put the stuffed animals around the drum table.  Scout LOVED the rug.  When I put the animals on it, he got very upset. He would thump me, walk over to the pile and look at me. He did this several times before I caught on. Stupid Human.  I cleared a space for him and he has very happily slept there ever since.

Santee Coooper Lights

In Monck's Corner they have a light display also.  It is brought to you by the Santee Cooper Electric Company.  It started in 2011.  It has not been going on that long, but we noticed there were some new displays this year

Even though Santa as not there and the village was not open for visitors, we could still see the lights.

They have lots of ponds to reflect the lights. That is so pretty!

 Even though the area and the lights are smaller. I recommend going out to see them. They are really fun.
