On Monday, we decorated cookies! I baked them on Sunday afternoon, so all we had to do was the fun part! Jack and Austin were here to help out too!
Jessica was here too! We had a great time!
I made up royal icing for the sugar cookies and gingerbread boys and trees!
Working very hard at making the best cookies ever!
Lon working hard too
It was really fun. We are going to do this again next year too!

First Annual Holiday Walk
Tonight was our first annual neighborhood holiday walk!
We met up at a neighbors house, got caroling booklets and off we went to sing through the neighborhood!
Lon was singing !
We rang doorbells and sang !
We even rang our doorbell. Mark wanted to stay home.
Lon went home when we got to our house. He was so tired from everything that he had done today!
Then we went back to the start and had cocoa and cookies.
I think next year we are going to start a little earlier. :)
It was fun and I am glad I live in a neighborhood that does things like this!

Christmas Parade 2014
Today was the Christmas Parade! Such a fun event. This is one of the larger Christmas parades in the South. It took almost an hour and a half to march down the street! This year we were smart and brought chairs.
The start of the parade
The Summerville High School Marching Band was the first band in the parade. There were three or four others too.
Not sure what this float was for, but I liked the Moa
I was not sure who this guy was supposed to be or why.
Lon's cub scout pack. Lon wanted to see the parade this year, so he did not march with them. He had never seen a Christmas Parade before
There was a lot I did not understand in this parade.
Vintage car clubs were there too
Saluting the veterans
And the Hunley
A local church that meets at the movie theater, had two snow machines.
Our neighbors!
This is getting fun when we know people and we see them around town
The River Dogs Baseball Team Mascot!
He did give Lon a big hug and ruffle his hair,
but I missed that shot.
A minion and a major award!
This is for kids looking for host families in an international exchange program. They worked hard on the car!
Santa ended the parade.
It was a great parade. Lots of fun.

Holiday Lights in Monck's Corner!
Tonight we decided to visit the drive through light display at Old Santee Canal Park. It is sponsored by the Santee Cooper Electric company.
While not as big as Jame's Island, it was still really cool!
I like the way the lights reflect on the ponds
I am going to put up pictures of the lights
without much commentary
If we had a long driveway, this would be cool
I do want to do this in our driveway
we went through the display twice
The leaping alligator was brought to you by the Summerville Pediatric Dentist. This is where Lon goes!
The first pass, the middle of this tree was out. As soon as I snapped this photo, the top 2/3rds went out!!
Dragon flies in the trees!
Bye, come again soon!
From the park we went to Downtown Monck's corner and looked at their light display!
On our way home is a street that takes Christmas lights very seriously!
the door opens and out comes Santaa!!
Yoda says Good night

Introducing Ranger!
Yes, we got another kitten. A teeny tiny kitten that was abandoned on the side of the road. A vet tech found them and brought them to the office where we take Scout.
Ranger. The orange tabby.
Mark had just been saying he has had a white cat, a grey cat, a black cat and now a beige cat, next cat should be an orange cat.
When we saw this little tiny one, Merry Christmas Daddy!
So far, Scout is not impressed with this fluff ball. He is hissing at him, and growling. Hopefully it won't be more than that.
Scout is at my feet growling and Ranger is on my shoulder purring.
I am hopeful they will work it out.

Putting Up The Tree
Today was the perfect day to put up the tree!
Scout is so happy! He is thinking about what kind of mischief he can create
Can you spot his tiny legs as he pulls himself into the tree?
This is so cool from every angle
Lon sorts the ornaments
These are mine. all mine. forever mine. Until I say otherwise.
These are the old magic ornaments that were plugged into a light string. Before LED lights. I had an old light string, so Lon and I put them on it and put them on the mantel. Pictures will come once the mantel is all finished
Lon hangs up the unbreakable ornaments on the bottom of the tree. We can hope that Scout will get bored with the whole idea of playing in the tree.
Once the tree is all finished I will post pictures.
