Checking out the map to see where we should go!

The giraffes, they are getting a new home! It is very exciting for them, and us. Three happy giraffes.

Lon fell getting the hose at the house, landed with his nose on the concrete and he wanted to wear a Scooby-Doo bandaid.

Lunch at the zoo. Lon was able to get a new lunch box! He now has two animal head lunch boxes, the Panda from the National Zoo, and now a Monkey! Lon picks them out himself.

The tiger! I framed the cage just right, and was able to crop it out, but the tiger was still behind a major fence, several of them! Isn't he pretty?

The best part of the zoo, for Lon, was the train! He loved the train. It was a very fun little ride!

HOT HOT HOT!

April15-19

It got HOT, up to 100+ degrees. That is hot, for everyone! Not just me!

Before we got the pool, Lon was using the hose to keep cool outside. Yes, that is a lemon tree behind him, and yes, I picked TONS of them!

Lon has to wear shoes, the deck is way too hot not to wear something on the feet!

On Sunday, the 19th, we were able to get to Target and get a pool! This was to save water. I did not want Lon to use all the water in the well keeping cool!

It was a tough, long HOT day!

Look! I can still blow bubbles! He did put his face in the water, but of course, I missed it with the camera!

Old Town Sacremento & The California State Railroad Museum

April 13

Looking out over the Sacramento River from Old Town. It was fairly early in the morning. It turned out to be such a beautiful day!

The River boat, it is a restaurant now. I read it also goes out on river cruises. That might be fun to do!

I am not sure what these ruins are, but they looked interesting.

Still waiting for the Railroad Museum to open. Lon ran up and down the wooden walkway. He was having fun.

Lon next to a BIG engine. They had quite a few engines and railcars. Lon was a bit overwhelmed.

Easter 2009, version 2

Easter was very fun. We arrived at Mom and Andy's place on Holy Thursday. I do not have any photos of my grandmother, mother and I making sausage. But I think I have it pretty much down and can now make it on my own. If Mom or Andy has any pictures of that event, please email them to me!

Easter Sunday was beautiful weather, a light breeze. Perfect.

Lon woke up excited to see if the Easter Bunny found him in California. It did! There was so much in that little basket! Movies, games, toys and some candy.

It was a little early.

We had an Easter Egg hunt in the front yard. The eggs were filled with little toys.

Car Washing with Daddy!

April 5

It was a nice day. Nice enough to wash cars. Which is exactly what Lon and Daddy did!

Lon had fun in his froggy rain coat and orange rain boots. It was colder than it looked!

Zeeks Pizza!

April 4

Daddy and Lon and I went to Eastside Trains, and then to Zeeks Pizza. Lon loves Zeeks.

One fun thing at Zeeks is that they give Lon a little ball of dough to play with while he is waiting. The dough ball is much more fun then the crayons and coloring page they also give him. Mommy and Daddy sometimes (most times) do the coloring page!

Almost all the pizza is gone. Pizza and Rootbeer. It is a perfect combination.

Just down the street is a little bakery. Lon got a chocolate cupcake. He then told us that he is not a very neat eater most of the time with cupcakes. This is very true. But it is never a problem.

Last Pirate Class

Traveling back in time just a bit, we are going to play catch up! Three blogs to catch us up to going to California, then all the California blogs....

April 3 we had our last Pirate Class of this session. We will have two more pirate classes this summer, but more on that as it happens.

A cannon! A cannon that shoots little foam balls, very fun. The kids all loved it every single one.

Teaching the kids how to use the cannon. There was no gun powder or anything remotely harmful in it, but there was a skill set involved in making it work right.

Lon stayed after class to play with the cannon!

So did other kids. We are looking forward to the next session of pirate class.
