Doctor Stats

Because the state requires shots be given at certain times, you can not get them early. The state will not recognize 364 days, but 366 is okay. This means that Lon went to the doctor today for his year shots. He is doing great! He is 32 inches tall. His head is 19 inches around. All bigger than last time. He is meeting all his developmental milestones, even exceeding them. The only problem he has is that he is skinny. VERY skinny. He only weighs 19 pounds. Exactly 19 pounds. Lon is in the 5 percentile for weight, the 95th for height. We have to work on fattening him up. I got some butter crackers today, put some peanut butter on them. They were okay. But when Mommy got the bright idea to put some Nutella on the peanut butter. Well, now we are talking! We also got some more spinach dip. It was very very good. Lon even put spinach dip in his hair.
Lon is sleeping off the shots. He did really well with those too. Same as last time. Cried a little, then was just fine.
Those are the stats from today. We have a weight check in 6 weeks. Time to get that baby fat!

Summer Fest

Lon enjoyed his trip, but being home with ALL his toys is excellent! Today he got all his toys we shipped home from Virginia. He is going to have more fun!
Lon is showing Daddy what he wants to do. Somewhere he lost his pants. I am not really sure how or why that happened. Lon did not seem to really care. Lon thinks that being pushed in his dump truck is the most fun in the ENTIRE world. How can you not LOVE this?





On Saturday the family went to the Kirkland Art's Summer Fest. Art on the waterfront. We enjoyed it. We had lunch up at the Wilde Rover Irish Pub, but outside. Lon enjoyed some Irish bacon from my sandwich and fries. Yummy.
There was a booth from the art school. They had a table full of unfired, unglazed pots. These were left by students for what ever reason did not want them. For 5 dollars they would let you glaze them, then they would fire them Raku style. What fun. I, of course, did a bowl.


The best booth they had was the one featuring Zuzu. Yes, that Zuzu. From the movie It's a Wonderful Life. She is a very nice person and let us get a photo of her with Lon. There were Christmas ornaments that she would sign. Be surprised Mom.

It was a very nice family outing. I am glad we went.

Sunday Morning In Virginia, Sunday Night in Seattle

Sunday was the day we got on the plane and trekked back to Seattle. We all had such a good week it was hard to leave. It is always hard to leave. We met up with Grandma Yetka and we took her to lunch. Aunt Karen and family were just coming in from Alaska.


I did not get many pictures in the restaurant. Called Tutto Bene. An interesting combo of Peruvian and Italian food. Lon was busy getting more wiggles out. The place was not busy, so Lon crawled up and down and all around. He heard his first live guitar. The musician started up, and Lon was mesmerized. South American sounding love songs. He was a very nice man.
After lunch, it was off to Aunt Karen's to await our flight. Matt is such a goofball! He can make us all laugh!

The whole family! It was so nice to all be together, even for just a couple hours.

We went off to the airport. Once we got to our gate, I was able to stand in front of the bar. There was a large crowd of us watching the soccer finals. I saw the game from the 76th minute. I saw Zidane lose the game. The young guys draped in the French flag were so down.

Lon did really well on the plane ride. He is so good!

Stratford Hall

Stratford Hall is the home of the Lee's. Yes, those Lees of Virginia. Robert E. Lee's father lost the home when Robert was only 4. Thus the home is not decorated in the Civil War period. It is decorated as it would be in Colonial Times. For the only two bothers to sign the Declaration of independence and Henry "Light Horse" Lee. Robert's father. When you get there they have a guide to show you around. Ours was a name called John. He portrayed an indentured servant.
They asked that no pictures be taken inside the Hall. It is so pretty inside. All period furniture.

We had lunch at the dining hall. It was a buffet, country ham, fried chicken, coleslaw, etc. Truly southern food. Even bread pudding for dessert. Lon crawled around the entire place several times. He defiantly had the wiggles, being held all through the house tour. The lady at the lunch place said that the cliffs over looking the River were very nice, so after lunch we went and looked.

It was not too far from the house, it would have been a very pleasant walk.

Grandma Phis gave Lon is first lollipop. A dumdum pop. He knew exactly what to do with it, without anyone telling him how.

A Day of Shopping, A Secret Mission, and Kenmore

On Friday, Mark, Mom and Lon and I went and did some shopping in lovely downtown Fredericksburg. I enjoy shopping there. The Polish Pottery shop was open this time, I, of course, got a pretty new plate!

Mark wanted a picture in front of the sign for the Acoustic Rooster. This is not a bar, it is a gift store.

We were walking by a pizza place and it just smelled great! So we stopped.

Lon tried more lemon. He likes it, even though he makes that face!

Grandma made a stop to get a lion to wrap around Lon! This is so his head won't fall forward when he falls asleep. What a nice Grandma she is. Grandma Phis is special!

We dropped Mark off at home and conducted a secret mission that involves Old Mill Park. Lon was playing in the grass, until I noticed that there were ants, lots of ants. Since Mommy is very sensitive to ant bites, Lon had to play somewhere else. So it was the trunk of the car for just a few more minutes.

Hmmm, it is big enough to play in, even though the stroller is here. The mission was accomplished, successfully. All will be revealed in a few weeks.

A nice passing stranger, with a nice black dog, took our picture for us in front of Kenmore. This is the Betty Washington Lewis House. Betty was George Washington's sister. The house is famous for it's plaster work. The name of the man who did the plaster work is lost. He also worked at Mount Vernon, but in letters from Betty to George, and vis versa, they refer to him as only the Stucco Man.

This room is finished, except for furniture. The wallpaper is a exact copy of one that was there. It is wool flocked wall paper. They had an article on the restoration of Kenmore in the Fredericksburg Free Lance Star.

More ceiling medallions. They were in all the rooms that were for entertaining.

Montpelier, part two

We are going to continue in the garden, it was a wonderful place. Mom, Mark and Lon did not go through the gardens, I went down to the back gate. We met up at the Education Center.

As I left the garden, I was looking what appears to be a well and something MOVED. I snapped these two photos. A doe and two fawns were zipping by! That was so wonderful to see.
I was not the only one who got to see wildlife. Mark, Mom and Lon saw a very friendly cat. Lon was very nice in petting the cat.
