Waiting on Costco

We were a little early for our Costco run. I needed to get the ham for Sunday afternoon's festivities. Costco, yes, Costco, has the world's best ham. Even in Virginia, the land of ham, it is the best. The Costco here is attached to a mall. The mall part was open for mall walking. Lon wanted to make sure we got Daddy's Pop. He kept pressing the buttons on the machine saying Daddy Pop.

In front of the Disney Store. I have not been to a Disney store in a long time, ever since they left Bell Square. Perhaps we would stop in once they opened, or perhaps not...

A little way down the mall they had a bunch of quarter toys. Lon does not like them once they start to move. Static toys are just perfect! He climbed all over them, in and out, had a wonderful time!
Just across from the quarter toys was a new Build a Bear Workshop, not opening for 7 more days. The manager was already there, and they were taking store photos. Previews for the Grand Opening. Since Lon had on his best bear shirt, she invited him in. He is now in the store archive as the first little guy in the store. We need to go back and see it now that it is open.

This is one very child friendly mall! Not more than 2 stores down from the quarter toys, they had this play place. How cool is this?

Looks like someone is waiting to meet Lon!

They did meet and play together for a while. Her name is Grace. She is very nice.

Slides are still the best thing ever invented

After a lovely carriage ride, we were off, it was 10am and Costco was open and waiting with our ham.

Spaghetti Test

Lon seems to enjoy pasta! Bucca di Bepo is the location of the pasta feast. More on all that later, this was just a spaghetti test.

Tiny Tuxedo

All I have left to do it put the hem in Lon's pants and his tiny tux is done. Whew! Made that by the dead line! Barely. In the morning before we go shopping for meat. I will do the hem. Side: Lon likes to say shopping, it sounds more like chopping, and we ask, what do you want to go shopping for, he now answers meat. I am not sure why he wants to shop for meat, he doesn't really like meat. Perhaps he just likes the word meat. End Side.
Tomorrow I will get photos of Lon in his tuxedo. I think he will look wonderful.

Bicycle, Bicycle

Lon was playing trucks inside, it was getting too hot outside. Mommy was still baking, although I think I am done now. I do not have picture editing here, I will try to crop the photos to make them nicer when I get back.

As I was moving some of Grandma Phis's clothes from the closet to the store room to make room for some of mine, Lon spied a bicycle. He was wanting to ride it NOW. Andy got it out of the store room, Lon helped him put the training wheels on.
Now to get on.

I think the tires are flat.

Yep, the tires are really flat, we should fix them NOW.

We all went to get air in the little bicycle tires. Lon is showing GiGi the wonders of his new Curious George Shoes. They are very fun.

Since we were all in the car, the car went to Carl's. Very yummy.

Carl's Ice Cream is the Best!

Yes, Lon is looking a little sleepy. He almost was asleep by the time we got home, but he perked up when he saw the little bicycle! He did not go to sleep till 8:15!

We need to get him a little helmet. He will have this bicycle thing mastered soon! We all just hover too much as he tries to learn how to do it.

Tuesday in Virginia

Lon helps GiGi fill the water can, he is going to help water. He loves water.

Lon discovered that there are TRUCKS in the garage! Boy, that Grandma Phis is sure cool. Yellow trucks in the garage! WOW. Lon played with them for a long time.
We went inside for a few minutes so the sprinklers could do their job. Lon was amazed that everything was wet upon his return. In the incredible heat of the day, it dried out fast! (91)

After playing in the heat, we came in and had a very nice lunch. Mommy made us toasted cheese sandwiches, but GiGi's had a tomato in it and that looked better, so I ate that instead.

When lunch was over, Mommy got busy. We went shopping for things we needed, like milk. Lon got to pick out dinner, he picked pizza. After we got back from shopping, Gigi played with Lon and Mommy was in the kitchen! We made pizza dough, pizza sauce, white chocolate coconut truffles for the wedding, and a fresh strawberry cake. It was based on a Swedish recipe. I think it turned out all right. Lon was a big help and so was GiGi keeping Lon entertained while I got some things done. Tomorrow the agenda is to play, get the final fitting on Lon's tuxedo, make mini madelines filled with orange buttercream, and then play some more. I will try to take more photos and get them bloged, after that there will be a lag in blogging as things start to get REALLY busy with the wedding! On Saturday!

In Virginia

Yep, it is true. Lon and I are in Virginia. We are getting ready for Grandma's WEDDING! Yep, we are going to have another Grandpa soon! Daddy comes in a couple days, but for now it is just me and Mommy.

Here I am watching the airplane.

Getting the wiggles out before we board the airplane. Mommy will tell you it did not work, I was UP the entire flight! I was a VERY good boy. I did fall asleep 3 minutes before landing. And stayed asleep till the next morning.

GiGi and I playing with all the new toys at Grandma Phis's house.

I get to read stories to GiGi, mainly about trucks.

Mommy is baking, madelines and french butter cookies. I think today she is making white chocolate candy.

Building a fort out of couch cushions. I have no clue on where Lon learned how to do that, our couch cushions at home are permanently attached to the couch....

Of course, we stopped at Carl's for ice cream! Carl's ice cream is the BEST. It has even been written up in Bon Appetite magazine as having some of the best ice cream in the country.

Lon started out with his small cone, then took Mommy's ice cream. He is helping me fit into my dress, I am sure that is his motivation, not just more ice cream for Lon!

This morning, before anyone else got up, Lon and went to the Donut Connection and brought back doughnuts! Lon had never tried a doughnut before. He had to have TWO on his plate, one was peanut butter cream, which sounded better than it tasted and the other was vanilla with sprinkles. Lon is a sucker for something with sprinkles on it. Loves those multi colored sprinkles!

Doughnuts are good. Lon likes them. However I have not found good doughnuts in Kirkland. Doughnuts may stay a Virginia treat. Just a few more days till the wedding, we are all getting ready. Now that I have figured out the camera downloads, I will try to keep the blog updated! And take more photos to post.
