New Washer and Dryer!

We were going to get a new washer and dryer when we moved in, but we kept putting it off. It was time!

The truck is here! The truck is here!

The empty room. It looks so much bigger!  Under the washer and dryer really was not as bad as I thought it would be, but Lon and I cleaned out all the dust bunnies.

Scout checking out the new machines!

He may or may not approve

Aren't they pretty?

Catholic Camper-All

This weekend was the Catholic Camper-All.  Since we are chartered through St. Theresa's and we are catholic, Lon and Mark went on this campout!
It was a camper-all so it was open to many different Troops, girl scouts too!

8 scouts from our troop went. Three adults also

Lon LOVED rifle. It was the first time he shot a rifle. He hit the target 8 out of 10 rounds.  Nice Job !

Some of the boys from Lon's troop on the firing line.

Doing his best

One of the other camp activities was building an A frame.  Since Lon was the lightest scout, he was the one to ride it

Ax throwing.  Lon hit the target.

Lon also fired a shot gun.  He did not like it as much as rifle, he has a pretty good shoulder bruise.   We will work on getting better.

The camping trip was a fun for the boys! And Mark. They had a good time.

Good Job, Lon!

Tonight was the fall Court of Honor for his boy scout troop.  This is where ranks earned are awarded and so are the merit badges.
I made a cake,  a double size cake, half vanilla, half chocolate. It was almost all gone by the end of the night.

 Programs!

Parents were also required to go up with the scouts as they got their ranks.

Not only did Lon get his scout rank, he also earned his tenderfoot rank!

Proud moment for all of us!

Getting his 5 merit badges from summer camp!

We found out tonight that the cards that come with the badges need to be saved. When you earn Eagle you have to have all the cards!  Lon will get a binder and baseball card pockets  to save them all in. It was wonderful someone told us that tonight.

Mark was recognized for his work at summer camp!

Lon's first badges.

Then it was time to eat and have some fun!

Very proud of Lon for all his hard work getting his ranks and his merit badges!

Boeing IT picnic!

Last year the annual IT picnic was at the Citadel Beach Club.  Sadly, the Beach Club burned down, I think they are trying to rebuild, but it was not going to be done for the picnic this year.  This year the picnic was held at Riverfront Park. On the Cooper River.

At the fountain

Too bad we did not bring change of clothes.

Lon is growing up, he only did one tour of the bouncey obstacle course

Boeing in the 70s.  The computers were HUGE!

The map of the world, with  some of the different airline companies that fly Boeing aircraft.  The holes are for kids to fly their paper airplanes.

Making his airplane!

I could not get a photo, Lon did fly his airplane though one of the holes.

Airplane races! Lon won for the glory!

Picking out his cup and airplane for his snow globe

Coloring in his straw rocket.  The crayons were starting to melt. I hope next year they find colored pencils if they are going to be outside.
It was starting to get hot. Low 90s

 His snow globe!

Gold and red glitter

He made some baskets!

Getting ready for the photo booth!

Chillin while Mom tries the funnel cake fries

Playing with the gyro thingy.  It was getting really uncomfortably hot for us.

On our way out we got a snow cone. That was really nice this year!

We stopped by C.H.O.P. on our way home. We do not even need a menu anymore.
It was nice to get into the air conditioning and a cold drink!

It was a fun day!  Even though it got hot, we enjoyed the picnic.

Technical Problems

I have been having computer problems, with pictures dissapearing.  I think I have fixed most of these!  Now we will keep going after this hiccup!
